Mountain biking enthusiasts can partake in this activity just a few minutes from Stresa and Baveno.

The Mottarone, located between Lake Maggiore and Lake Orta, not only has breathtaking panorama but is also a place for enjoyment and release. The Stresa-Alpino-Mottarone cable car leaves from Piazzale Lido, in the district of Carciano di Stresa. With a 20 minute journey time and a 40 person capacity per cabin, it reaches a height of 1,491 metres above sea level.

During the summer season it is possible to enjoy exciting descents from the summit on mountain bikes along appropriately marked tracks and to practise downhill, a mountain bike competition which is timed individually and is completely downhill on tracks of different levels of difficulty and lengths from 2 to 4 kilometres, if necessary, hiring the bicycle directly at the location. Mountain biking experts from the Italian Cycling Federation help you to enjoy yourselves in complete safety and can also accompany you on excursions, providing all necessary equipment and a possible GPS route.
